Cilantro/Hara Dhaniya Chutney

  • This is one of the favorite chutneys in the subcontinental. It is ideal to use with snacks as well with any rice or lentils dish.

    Ingredients

    - Two bunches of green cilantro
    - One green sour mango
    - Six green chilis
    - Twenty leaves of fresh green mint
    - Salt
    - Cumin powder
    - Lemon juice

    1. Take one green sour mango, peal it, and cut it into pieces.
    2. Take two bunches of fresh green cilantro.
    3. Wash the cilantro and remove the stems.
    4. Take three green chilis and cut them into pieces
    5. Use a large food mixer, the rest of the steps can be done in two stages, cutting everything in half.
    6. Put the mango pieces in the mixer.
    7. Add twenty leaves of fresh mint.
    8. Add the green cilantro.
    9. Add one spoon of salt.
    10. Add one spoon of cumin powder.
    11. Add lemon juice to taste.
    12. Grind to paste.

      If you end up making too much of the chutney and are concerned that it might get spoiled, you can freeze it in small containers and defreeze the chutney before consumption.
