Green Peas with Ground Beef - Matar Qeema

  1. Take one medium size onion or half of a big onion and cut it into small pieces.
  2. Take three jumbo spoonfuls of cooking oil and warm it up.
  3. Fry the onion in the cooking oil on high heat mark 9, until the onions become brown, keep stirring so that the onions don't burn.
  4. Wash the beef slightly and drain the water.
  5. Lower the heat to mark 6.
  6. Add one teaspoon of garlic paste into the slightly brown onion and mix.
  7. Add the ground beef and mix for five minutes until the beef looses it's pink color.
  8. Add:
    1. One teaspoon ginger powder,
    2. One teaspoon coriander powder,
    3. Three quarter teaspoon turmeric,
    4. One teaspoon salt,
    5. Half teaspoon red pepper
    6. One tea spoon garam masala.
  9. Fry the beef till the cooking oil separates from the masala, approximately about 3-4 minutes.
  10. Add one glass of water and let it cook until the beef is tender, approximately half an hour.
  11. Add half a tin of tomato sauce, fry for one minute.
  12. Add half a bag of one pound of green peas, cook for approximately fifteen minutes on slow fire around mark 4 until the peas are done, there should be no water.
