Green Peas with Ground Beef - Matar Qeema
- Take one medium size onion or half of a big onion and cut it into small pieces.
- Take three jumbo spoonfuls of cooking oil and warm it up.
- Fry the onion in the cooking oil on high heat mark 9, until the onions become brown, keep stirring so that the onions don't burn.
- Wash the beef slightly and drain the water.
- Lower the heat to mark 6.
- Add one teaspoon of garlic paste into the slightly brown onion and mix.
- Add the ground beef and mix for five minutes until the beef looses it's pink color.
- Add:
- One teaspoon ginger powder,
- One teaspoon coriander powder,
- Three quarter teaspoon turmeric,
- One teaspoon salt,
- Half teaspoon red pepper
- One tea spoon garam masala.
- Fry the beef till the cooking oil separates from the masala, approximately about 3-4 minutes.
- Add one glass of water and let it cook until the beef is tender, approximately half an hour.
- Add half a tin of tomato sauce, fry for one minute.
- Add half a bag of one pound of green peas, cook for approximately fifteen minutes on slow fire around mark 4 until the peas are done, there should be no water.
